As you reach Dulux site, you need to click on the ‘mouse painter’ option. The click takes you to a page that says ‘select an image type’. You will need to select a room type. You can pick from bathroom, bedroom, dining room, exteriors, hallway, kitchen, living room! When you have chosen the room that you need to paint, you need to specify the style of the room. You will have to click on images of virtual rooms to select a room type. The next step is to choose the colour range, that is, from reds, oranges, greens, off whites etc.
As you choose the colour for your walls, you will need to ‘choose a colour range from the first tab’, then ‘choose a colour from the second tab and drag it into your image’! Dulux mouse painter gives you shade card after you choose colours for your walls. You can pick shades of the chosen colours from the table offered. As you drag and drop colours on the virtual image of your room, you are able to see the effect of each colour that you choose. You can keep trying new combinations till you are satisfied with your choice and then print out the final version of the virtual image of the room!
Mouse painter offers you ‘go back’, ‘erase’, and ‘compare’ before and after options. You can also click on ‘help’, ‘choose a new room’, ‘coordinating colours’, ‘colour search’, ’build a colour scheme’ as per your requirement. Mouse painter is a very user friendly application that helps the users pick right colours for their rooms and also it gives them confidence in their choice of colours as the users have an option to test the colours and combine these with other shades, before they buy paints and get begin painting their house in real!
