Do you believe in the colours of wishes? Did you ever wish a colourful wish?

Myra, a little girl used to love watching stars at night. She was a happy 7 years old little girl. Every night, she used to rush her meal and run to her room to talk to Santa Claus. ‘Santa is my best friend’, she told her mother. Her mother couldn’t help but smile at her innocence and hugged her warmly.

Her mother asked her, “Myra, what is it that made Santa your best friend?” Myra’s eyes gleamed and glistened with happiness as she prepared to narrate her affection animatedly to her mother. She said with her arms flowing here and there in a happy rhythm, “Maa, Santa has always fulfilled my wishes.” “Maa Maa, you know every year I make a colourful wish and I tell Santa about that wish everyday.”

Myra’s mother understood the reason behind Myra’s excitement. Last Christmas, Myra wished for a Barbie doll and her mother quietly hid it under her quilt on Christmas morning and told her that Santa got it for her.

Myra’s mother asked her, “What is it that you want this Christmas?” Myra said, with her arms around her mother’s pregnant belly, “I want a baby sister to play with”. Myra’s mother couldn’t control the tears of joy and kissed her forehead.

Christmasy green season

Christmas season will be here soon. There will be cakes, there will be rum, there will be celebration and lots of decoration…it will only be about eating, drinking and making merry. Christmas is the most colourful festival and is celebrated annually every year.

Due to the historical significance (birth of Christ) attached to Christmas; it enjoys a lot of religious importance not just in the West, but also in India. As winters come in, people colour themselves in the spirit of Christmas. Christmas is totally about green celebration and rainbow happiness. People spend Christmas with their families and friends, sharing joys and celebrating together. It becomes all about colours of hope and wish when people deck up the Christmas tree and children wait for Santa Claus to bring them gifts and fulfill all their dreams.

The festival is sheer mix of celebration and jubilation. Since, Christmas is only a few days before New Year’s, the colour of celebrations spills through the whole of the month, not just one single day. The entire season becomes the Christmas and New Year’s season.
