Painting your dream home

Does the thought of painting your home yourself excite you? Do you want to put in some personal effort for making your living space special? The process of painting can be divided into three parts- pre painting, surface preparation and the actual painting of the surface. One should look for water leakages from terrace, seepage and dampness in wall, if any. If it is spotted, then get it repaired. Same goes for uneven wall and other surfaces. Apply a coat of lime wash on the wall and leave it to dry. This ensures that all the walls get completely dry before painting. Once this is done, remove all the loose plaster and start paint. The first thing to go on the wall is a primer. It usually takes 8 hours to dry. Thereafter apply the coat of your favourite colour on the wall. You can use special decorative paints, texture paints and other varieties to give character to the wall and make it look the way you had visualized. Happy painting!
