Each one of us understands that different colours evoke different emotions, thoughts and responses in each one of us. Our subconscious mind is receptive to colours but little do we give a conscious thought to the importance of colours in our life or what do they represent. Universally, there are certain emotions which are attached to certain colours.
Red is the colour of passion, dominance, determination and power. It demands attention and exudes energy. It is an ideal colour to rekindle romance and thus should be used in master bedroom. Pink is an upbeat and calming colour. So keep your children in the ‘pink of health’ and use it in their room. For boys, use its alternative- sky blue- a colour which is as soothing as baby pink. These colours match well with bright and dull colours alike. The colour brown is stable, earthy and informal. It goes well for the living room if combined with a lighter shade. Too much brown will subdue the light and hence give a coy feeling.
Yellow, the colour of spring is playful and exudes optimism. It is also an evergreen colour and can be used in any room without much thought. Paint all the walls with it or use combination, you can’t go wrong with this colour! Green, on the other hand, is the colour of prosperity, envy and prestige. Its shade can however be used harmoniously in any room to create a style statement. It is ideal to be used for kitchen as the colour also symbolizes vitality. Last but not the least, white - it is the most common colour used to paint walls - be it offices or homes. The colour symbolizes virtue and purity. Just as the white light comprises vibgyor, the colour white can hide several personalities in itself and let the most positive one shine through!
